TypeFix

Privacy Policy

How TypeFix handles your data — on your Mac and on this website

TypeFix ("we", "us") is operated by an individual sole proprietor based in Israel. This policy explains what data we process through the TypeFix macOS app and the typefix.app website, and your rights. Questions: support@typefix.app.

1. The app and the text you type — local only

TypeFix needs the macOS Accessibility permission to do its job. We use it only locally, on your Mac, and only at the moment you trigger the fix shortcut — to read the text in the active field and replace it with the corrected version. TypeFix does not collect, store, log, or transmit anything you type. It does not run a keylogger and does not read your text at any other time.

2. What the app does send

To function, the app makes a small number of network requests that do not include your typed content:

3. What the website collects

4. Cookies & tracking

Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel store cookies/identifiers in your browser for analytics and measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use the Google Analytics opt-out, and manage ad preferences with Meta. We are working on adding a cookie-consent banner for visitors in regions that require prior consent.

5. Service providers we share data with

These providers process data under their own privacy policies and may store data outside Israel/the EU (e.g., in the United States).

6. Legal bases (GDPR)

For visitors in the EEA/UK we rely on: your consent for analytics/marketing cookies; performance of a contract for purchases and license operation; and our legitimate interests in securing and improving the service and answering support requests.

7. Your rights

Under the EU GDPR and Israel's Privacy Protection Law you may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, email support@typefix.app.

8. Retention

We keep support correspondence and order records only as long as needed for support, accounting and legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them. Analytics data is retained per the providers' default retention settings.

9. Children

TypeFix is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change and material updates will be posted on this page.
